Anonymous Self Portraits

This series of four works was made in Delhi in 2007 at a time when gay dating apps started to appear while the legality of gay sex was up for discussion. Very few people were willing to reveal their true identities. To mark the moment I made this work to represent myself anonymously but in the four categories I'm usually known by — gay, HIV+, photographer and landlord. The work was made for an exhibition in Bombay at the time, and not been shown since.

Medium: Silver Gelatine
Edition: 3+1AP
